Shopping: don't miss the well preserved old town of Rethymnon with the Platanos fountain, the boutiques, gold and souvenir shops of Arkadiou street, the traditional and souvenir shops of Souliou street and enjoy a trip around the area.

Excursions: from many travel agencies in town you can find excursions towards Heraklion, Chania destinations or the monastery of Arkadi among others.

Boat Excursions: Daily ferries of about 50 persons, during the tourism season (April-October), travel to the beautiful beaches at Bali and Marathi with a visit to local taverns. There is a one day tour to Santorini island available.  Also other seasonal boats are available.

Swimming: Enjoy the sandy beaches of the North Rethymnon at Rethymnon city, Adele, Panormo, Platanias, Petres, Stavromenos, Geropotamos, Mpali. Also if you prefer the not so crowded south Crete then you can visit the beaches of Agia Galini, Plakias, Damnoni, Agios Pavlos and Preveli

Waking: A variety of walks towards all the country of Crete are available. Travel along mule-paths, down to riverbeds and along stony mountain-paths.
